Colombia – Avianca, part of the Abra Group, has outlined its executive succession plan following CEO Frederico Pedreira’s decision to step down on 28 February 2026. As part of the transition, the airline has appointed current Chief Commercial Officer Gabriel Oliva as President.

  • Oliva assumed the role of President on 11 November 2025, and will continue serving concurrently as CCO until further structural adjustments are completed.
  • Once Pedreira steps down in February 2026, the CEO role will remain within Abra Group, led by Adrian Neuhauser, while Oliva will continue as Avianca President and a new Chief Operating Officer (COO) will be appointed.
  • Pedreira, who joined Avianca in 2021 and previously served as CCO and Deputy CEO, oversaw significant growth, with the airline expanding to over 160 routes and 80 destinations, carrying more than 38 million passengers in 2024.
