Global – Abra Group, the holding company of Avianca and GOL and a strategic investor in Wamos Air, has confirmed a major fleet expansion order with Airbus, finalising the purchase of 50 additional A320neo family aircraft and five A350-900 widebodies. The agreement formalises a Memorandum of Understanding signed in 2024 and supports the Group’s strategy to strengthen its network across the Americas and Europe.
With this announcement, Abra Group has now ordered a total of 150 A320neo family aircraft, of which 138 remain in the delivery backlog.
More than 150 Airbus aircraft are already in service across the Abra Group’s airlines, with the Group operating one of the region’s most significant Airbus fleets.
Airbus continues to dominate the Latin American commercial aircraft market, with over 850 aircraft in service and more than 470 in the regional order backlog. The manufacturer has captured 75% of net orders in the region since 1994.
