Latin American Government Offers Free Online Course for Aspiring Pilots

November 2, 2025

Brazil - The National Civil Aviation Agency of Brazil (ANAC) has launched a free online theoretical pilot training program, making official study materials for future pilots publicly available through its Wings of Knowledge digital library. The initiative allows aspiring aviators to begin civil aviation studies from home, access officially certified content, and progress toward the Private Pilot Licence (PP) theoretical exam — all at no cost.

  • The new program, titled “Civil Aviation at Home with Official Certification,” provides comprehensive study guides in PDF format covering all modules required for ANAC’s theoretical pilot certification.
  • The material includes subjects such as principles of flight, aerodynamics, aircraft systems, flight controls, aircraft construction, decision-making, and human factors, mirroring the syllabi taught in accredited aviation schools.
  • The course is open-access — no registration or login is required — allowing anyone to download and study the material at their own pace.
  • This government-backed initiative aims to democratize access to pilot education, reduce the cost barrier to entry, and build a larger base of technically prepared candidates for future aviation training.
