Latvia's Tarragon Aircraft Unveils First Turboprop-Powered Variant with Turbotech Engine

Latvia – Tarragon Aircraft, a Latvian aircraft manufacturer operating as SIA Pelegrin in Riga, has introduced the first Tarragon aircraft equipped with a Turbotech turboprop engine, expanding the platform's powerplant options into the turboprop segment.

  • The first Tarragon aircraft powered by a Turbotech turboprop engine has been completed and is available for order, with demo flights offered from Riga.
  • Turbotech is a French manufacturer of compact turboprop and turboshaft engines designed for light aviation, unmanned systems, and hybrid-electric applications.
  • The Tarragon is also available with a Rotax 916 iS engine configuration, designed for dynamic in-flight maneuvers, with a starting price of $420,000.
  • AFM previously reported on the Latvian Ministry of Defense's acquisition of two Tarragon aircraft manufactured by SIA Pelegrin for the National Armed Forces in 2022, highlighting Latvia's revival of domestic aircraft manufacturing.
