Leading Edge Aviation Continues Whole Pilot Program with August 2026 Oxford Session

United Kingdom – UK CAA- and EASA-approved flight training group Leading Edge Aviation welcomed former airline captain Emma Henderson MBE MRAeS to its Oxford campus on 5 August 2026 to deliver part of the academy’s Whole Pilot® training framework.

• The Whole Pilot framework incorporates nine pilot competency areas, including situational awareness, professional standards, leadership and teamwork, effective communication, workload management, problem solving and decision making, knowledge and application of procedures, manual aircraft control and automation management.
• A central element is the Commanders’ Professional Development programme developed with Henderson. Leading Edge currently lists six 90-minute modules covering professional standards, effective communication, problem solving and decision making, situational awareness, preparation and adaptability, and the integration and application of skills.
• The wider framework also includes mentoring, mental-health and wellbeing support, behavioural records, KSA-100 activity, APS MCC training and additional professional-development content.
• Leading Edge launched the Whole Pilot course in early 2024 in collaboration with Henderson and reported the graduation of its first cohort in July 2025. The academy said the course was developed to complement technical instruction with behavioural and cognitive development relevant to airline operations.
