Leading Edge Aviation Welcomes 15 Cadets into LEAP-076 Integrated Pilot Training in August 2026

United Kingdom – UK and EASA-approved flight training organisation Leading Edge Aviation has welcomed 15 cadets into LEAP-076, its latest Leading Edge Airline Preparation integrated pilot training cohort. The intake follows the 13-student LEAP-075 cohort announced in July.

• Leading Edge's LEAP programme is a full-time ab-initio pathway designed to take students from zero flight experience through theoretical knowledge, initial and advanced flight training, Advanced Upset Prevention and Recovery Training and Airline Pilot Standards Multi-Crew Cooperation training.
• The academy states that the integrated programme can be completed in as little as 18 months, although current student timelines are generally around 20 to 24 months. The UK LEAP pathway also incorporates a BSc in Air Transport Management.
• Training is split across Leading Edge's London Oxford Airport campus and Alhama de Murcia base in Spain. Foundation flying is primarily conducted at Alhama, while Oxford houses most of the academy's multi-engine aircraft, advanced flight-training fleet and simulator infrastructure.
• Leading Edge's current official fleet page lists 30 operational training aircraft:
  • 13 Diamond DA40s — eight at Oxford and five at Alhama.
  • Nine Diamond DA42s — eight at Oxford and one at Alhama.
  • Six Piper PA-28s at Alhama.
  • Two Slingsby Fireflies at Oxford for Advanced UPRT.
• The academy additionally lists four Piper Archer DX aircraft as "coming soon" for its Alhama fleet. Leading Edge announced in 2026 that the four-aircraft acquisition is the first stage of a multi-year fleet expansion programme with Piper.
• Oxford's published synthetic training fleet comprises two DA42 FNPT II devices and one MPS Airbus A320 FTD-1 used for APS MCC training.
• Leading Edge operates under UK CAA approval GBR.ATO-0503 and EASA approval EASA-GBR.ATO-0503, allowing it to provide UK and European professional pilot training pathways.
• Leading Edge reported nearly 250 new students across its programmes during 2025 and expanded its airline relationships that year through new partnerships with Jet2.com and Aurigny/Norse Atlantic UK, alongside existing relationships with British Airways, easyJet, TUI, Wizz Air and Titan Airways.
