United Kingdom – UK CAA- and EASA-approved flight training organisation Leading Edge Aviation welcomed 19 students into LEAP-077 in early September 2026, beginning the academy’s integrated ab-initio pathway toward commercial pilot qualifications. The cohort continues a sequence of new LEAP intakes progressing through Leading Edge’s training system across Oxford and Alhama de Murcia.

  • LEAP-077 comprises 19 students. Combined with the 13 students who entered LEAP-075 in July and the 15 students who joined LEAP-076 in August, Leading Edge has welcomed 47 students across these three consecutive integrated cohorts.
  • The LEAP Integrated course is a full-time ab-initio program covering ATPL theoretical knowledge, initial and advanced flight training, Advanced Upset Prevention and Recovery Training and Airline Pilot Standards Multi-Crew Cooperation training.
  • Training is delivered through the academy’s dual-campus model. Foundation flying is principally conducted at Alhama de Murcia in Spain, while Oxford supports advanced training, A-UPRT, APS MCC and other elements of the professional pilot pathway.
  • The academy’s published operational fleet includes 13 Diamond DA40s, nine Diamond DA42s, six Piper PA-28s and two Slingsby Fireflies across Oxford and Alhama. Four Piper Archer DX aircraft are additionally listed for introduction at the Spanish campus as part of Leading Edge’s fleet expansion program.
  • Synthetic training at Oxford includes two Diamond DA42 FNPT II devices and an MPS Airbus A320 FTD-1 used for APS MCC training, providing progression from ab-initio aircraft training into airline-oriented multi-crew preparation.
