The mission of the John D. Odegard School of Aerospace Science is Working together we will be leaders in creating, preserving, and delivering the highest quality education, research, and services in aerospace and related sciences for our university, our state, and the worldwide aerospace community.The Turbine AATD (Advance Aviation Training Devices)/Simulator Instructor will conduct advanced flight and ground training associated with the jet transition training course (AVIT 480) or other related training programs.

Duties & Responsibilities

CRJ Lead Flight Instructor Develop and incorporate instruction aids.Administer stage and evaluation checks.

  • AdministrationStandardize instructors.

Monitor flight training records and progress. Conduct review boards. Monitor curriculum and suggest changes when necessary. Recommend improvements for training and safety. Develop, monitor, and maintain policies and procedures. Assist Dispatch and Test Center.Conduct tours and Promotional CRJ Activities.Duties as assigned.

Flight Instructor

Conduct advanced ground and flight instruction.Follow prescribed curriculum. Maintain student records. Maintain superior training standards.Maintain safe operations. Maintain an appropriate level of contact time as per Assistant Chief Flight Instructor.

Personal and Professional Development

Maintain currency and remain abreast of regulatory changes. Maintain professional demeanor and appearance. Continue professional development.

Required Competencies

  • Strong oral and written communications skills.
  • Ability to make sound training and safety decisions.
  • Good team building skills.
  • Motivated, self-starter with the ability to perform without direct supervision.
  • Ability to learn UND training course outlines and computer systems.

Minimum Requirements

B.S. Degree or equivalent flight experience.2 years’ experience as a Flight Instructor.Minimum FAA certifications:Commercial pilot certificate, single and multiengine class ratings, and instrument rating airplane.Certified flight instructor, single and multi engine rating.Excellent working knowledge of FAR’s and Part 141 Pilot School Operations.Successful completion of criminal history records check.In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the US and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience flying high performance/altitude turbine aircraft or equivalency.Part 121 or 135 Experience or equivalency.

Minimum Hiring Salary/Position Classification

$60,000 / year; Full-Time; Benefited; Exempt

Work Schedule/Start Date

Monday – Friday, with some weekend days possible.”
