Germany – European Flight Academy (EFA), the ab-initio pilot training organisation of Lufthansa Group operated by Lufthansa Aviation Training, has welcomed 26 new students to its Bremen training campus in September 2026. The cohort, designated LHG2609-P, has commenced its professional pilot training program, adding to the academy's ongoing development of future commercial airline pilots.
- European Flight Academy's professional pilot training program typically lasts approximately 24 months, excluding aircraft type rating training, and prepares students to obtain EASA commercial pilot qualifications, including instrument and multi-engine ratings.
- The academy's German training pathway combines theoretical instruction in Bremen with single-engine flight training at United Aviate Academy in Goodyear, Arizona, followed by multi-engine training at Rostock-Laage, Germany. Multi-Crew Cooperation (MCC) training takes place at Lufthansa Aviation Training simulator centers.
- European Flight Academy's published schedule also lists a fully booked October 2026 intake in Zurich, Switzerland, and a fully booked January 2027 class in Bremen. Further intakes are scheduled for February 2027 in Bremen and March 2027 in Zurich.
- The academy uses Cirrus SR20 aircraft for the single-engine training phase in the United States, while its European practical training operations use Diamond aircraft, including the DA40 and DA42 for single-engine and multi-engine instruction.
