Türkiye - Turkish Airlines is preparing for high-level meetings with Boeing and engine supplier CFM International in the coming weeks to finalise terms of a long-discussed 150-aircraft Boeing 737 MAX order, according to Chairman Ahmet Bolat.
- The airline announced in September 2025 that it had agreed in principle to acquire 150 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft and 75 Boeing 787 Dreamliners, but the finalisation of the narrow-body portion remains subject to satisfactory engine supply agreements with CFM International.
- Bolat confirmed that discussions also include the potential establishment of an engine maintenance centre in Türkiye, a move that would enhance the country’s MRO (maintenance, repair, and overhaul) capabilities and reduce dependence on external engine service providers.
- CFM International—a transatlantic joint venture between GE Aerospace and Safran Aircraft Engines—is the exclusive engine supplier for the Boeing 737 MAX family and competes with Pratt & Whitney (RTX) for engine contracts on the Airbus A320neo series.
