Major Aviation Partnership Strengthened at Future Investment Initiative 2025 in Riyadh

Saudi Arabia – Airbus reaffirmed its long-term commitment to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia during the Future Investment Initiative (FII) in Riyadh, with regional leadership highlighting the company’s expanding role in supporting Vision 2030’s aviation and industrial development goals.

  • Gabriel Semelas, President of Airbus Africa and Middle East, met with senior Saudi officials and aviation executives including H.E. Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser, Minister of Transport; H.E. Abdulaziz Al-Duailej, Governor of the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA); Tony Douglas, CEO of Riyadh Air; Edward O’Byrne, CEO of AviLease; and Bander Almohanna, CEO of flynas.

  • Discussions focused on Airbus’s strategic engagement across Saudi Arabia’s commercial, military, and industrial sectors, as the Kingdom advances its Vision 2030 agenda to establish itself as a global aviation hub.

  • Airbus currently supports the Kingdom’s aviation ecosystem with over 400 commercial aircraft on order and more than 100 military assets in operation, in addition to helicopters and secure communications networks that underpin national and emergency services.

  • Semelas emphasized Airbus’s 40-year partnership with Saudi Arabia, describing the company’s role as integral to the Kingdom’s growing global influence and industrial self-sufficiency.
