United Airlines is hiring a Supervisor under the Flight Simulator Maintenance Department at its Flight Training Center in Denver, Colorado, USA.

Key Responsibilities

United Airlines has a Flight Training Center located in Denver Colorado. The Supervisor of Simulator Maintenance is responsible for the coordination, assignment, tracking and technical evaluation of all maintenance activities on the training devices. The supervisor position is an Operational/Management position and is responsible for employees who are covered by a collective bargaining agreement. The position may require occasional overtime as per the Working Together Guidelines for management level employees.

Department

Monitor parts usage and requests to ensure the best maintenance and financial practices are followedEnsure the FSTDs maintain an acceptable level of training performanceManage employee attendance and scheduling of employees covered by a collective bargaining agreementManage overtime with work requirementsInterface with various Flight Simulator Training Device manufacturers for issue resolutionsObserve and apply Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) work rules, interfacing with union representatives and HR, and mitigate employee workgroup issuesReview individual work assignments with the assistance of the Lead Technicians ensuring discrepancies are assigned and corrective action is completed based on training impact

Compliance

Ensure FAA 14 CFR Part 60 and SQMS compliance dailyMonitor progress and ensure FSTD readiness for annual Continuing Qualification (CQ) evaluationsMonitor the Flight Simulator training Device performance metrics, analyzing trends and coordinating corrective actions where necessaryMonitor discrepancies and report MMI issues as requiredMonitor Preventative Maintenance actions for completionMonitor FAA QTG tests for completion in the required time frame and coordinate any remedial activities required to ensure completion

Communication

Communication with the Fleet users to acquire feedback on maintenance actions and performance including operation reliabilityAttend the monthly ‘How Goes It’ meetings between Engineering, Maintenance, and the Fleet users, providing the oversight and feedback on the course of action for issue resolution; prepare the documentation for use during the meetingCounseling of employees on job performance and/or time and attendance issues; resolving conflict in the workplaceCoordinate assistance from the Simulator Engineering group for resolution of discrepancies as required.

Minimum Qualifications

Education

High school diploma, GED or education equivalent required

Knowledge/Skills/Experience

Working knowledge of Flight Simulator Training Device qualifications, maintenance, and operational requirements.Three years’ experience Supervising or working as a Flight Simulator Technician or Engineer requiredWorking knowledge of MS Office suite required

Other

Must be flexible and willing to work shifts as assigned. We are a 24 hour/7 day a week operation including weekends, nights, and holidays. This position will require working the midnight shift.Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorshipSuccessful completion of interview required to meet job qualificationsReliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
