Malaysian Flight School Enters into a Joint Venture Agreement with University
BATS Aviation Sdn Bhd (BATS), a flying school in Ipoh, Perak, has entered into a joint venture agreement with Universiti Kuala Lumpur – Malaysian Institute of Aviation Technology (UNIKL MIAT) to offer a programme Diploma Flight Operation Management. The program, known as the Landscape Programme, offers airline pilots and cadet pilots of “Commercial Pilot Licence (A) with Instrument Rating – CPL/IR with Frozen ATPL” with the diploma and degree qualifications.
The Landscape Program is a new initiative for both organizations. The dynamic synergy between academic institutions, training organizations, policymakers, is to prepare future pilots in the competitive industry. This program will change the Malaysian Aerospace and Aviation industry, producing a new generation of professional pilots who are knowledgeable in the world of business and management skills, in addition to being high-quality pilots.
The pilots and cadet pilots will be exposed to the complexities of the aviation industry and the management ecosystem as early as possible at the beginning of flight training. The collaboration between BATS and UNIKL MIAT through the Landscape Programme will produce pilots with diplomas/degrees, enhancing the marketability of Malaysian pilots.
The signing ceremony was witnessed by the Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia, YAB Dato’ Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Bin Hamidi, during the LIMA23 show held in Langkawi.
According to Hazlee Jehan, Executive Chairman of BATS, “it is our aspiration at BATS to do our best to educate and provide appropriate exposure to produce competitive Bumiputera skilled personnel. With the support of the Ministry of Rural and Regional Development (KPDW) under the leadership of YAB Dato’ Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Bin Hamidi, in particular Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MAR), we can assist potential Bumiputera students in realising their dreams and ambitions of becoming a successful pilot.”
“We believe that the Landscape Programme is in line with KPDW’s policy in particular MARA, as a strategic organisation to lead, coordinate and drive the Bumiputera Agenda which aims to increase the dominance of Bumputera equity in the areas of professional, entrepreneurship, education and investment.”
