McAir Aviation Opens Second Colorado Flight Training Campus at Colorado Air and Space Port

November 14, 2025

Colorado, USA – Mc Air Aviation, a Denver-area FAA Part 141 flight training organization and member of the Spartan Education Group (SEG), has opened its second training location at Colorado Air and Space Port (CFO) in Watkins. The expansion increases training capacity for the Allegiant-partnered Altitude Pilot Pathway and broadens access for aspiring pilots across the Denver metropolitan area.

  • The Watkins campus begins operations with six Cessna 172S aircraft, including three G1000 and three NAV II-equipped models, enabling both traditional and glass-cockpit instruction.
  • The new location supports Mc Air’s long-term growth strategy, building on its primary base at Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport (BJC) where the school has operated since 1994.
  • Colorado Air and Space Port provides an uncongested training environment approximately six miles south of Denver International Airport, improving operational reliability for student pilots.
  • The facility will host a public grand-opening event on 17 November, including a ribbon-cutting ceremony, hangar tour, and remarks by aviation and regional leaders.

Statement

  • “Expanding to Colorado Air and Space Port in Watkins allows Mc Air to make flight training more accessible to students across the Denver metro area and beyond. Our Watkins campus features a fleet of six Cessna 172S aircraft—three equipped with G1000 avionics and three with NAV II—providing students with training experiences across both traditional and glass cockpit platforms.” Thomas Rogers, Chief Flight Instructor, Mc Air Aviation. “Additionally, we are proud to bring the Altitude Pilot Pathway closer to more students in the Denver area.”
