Middle East Airline Hires 70 Pilots and Expands Fleet with 9 New Aircraft in Q1 2025

Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates – Etihad Airways has announced a record-breaking start to 2025, posting a net profit of AED 685 million for Q1, a 30% year-on-year increase compared to Q1 2024.

• 990 new hires in Q1, including:

  • 70 pilots

  • 650 cabin crew

  • 270 across other functions

• 500 total promotions, including:

  • 50 pilots

  • 360 cabin crew

  • 90 across support and corporate roles

• 5 million passengers carried, up 16% YoY

• Load factor reached 87%, indicating strong network demand

• Operating fleet: 98 aircraft, including 9 new deliveries
