Egypt - Egyptair Training Academy has expanded its long-standing partnership with FlightSafety International through the acquisition of a new Boeing 737 MAX Level D Full Flight Simulator and a Level 1 Flight Training Device. The agreement, signed at the 2025 Dubai Airshow, will support EGYPTAIR’s fleet-modernisation programme and enhance pilot-training capacity as the airline prepares to introduce its first 737 MAX 8 in early 2026.
The new 737 MAX simulator will be installed at EGYPTAIR Training Academy in Cairo and is expected to enter service in early 2026 in parallel with the airline’s initial 737 MAX deliveries.
The Academy’s existing 737NG simulator will undergo a sustainability-focused upgrade, allowing it to support both NG and MAX pilot-training requirements and increasing scheduling flexibility across fleets.
The partnership with FlightSafety International builds on more than 15 years of collaboration, including the installation of EGYPTAIR’s first FlightSafety-built 737NG simulator in 2009 and the delivery of an A220 simulator in 2021.
The new devices will be supported by FlightSafety’s Service and Operations Support (SOS) programme to ensure reliability and minimal downtime.
