Intercontinental Aviation Enterprise (IAE), a subsidiary of Mehyou Group, which operates Airways Aviation branded flight training organisations in Lebanon and Cyprus has announced the strategic addition of an EASA Part CAMO (Certified Approved Maintenance Organization) to its Cypriot operations at Larnaca International Airport.

With this addition, IAE can directly control critical aspects of our maintenance operations, ensuring in-house optimization in airworthiness management, reliability monitoring, maintenance planning, and technical records management. This streamlined process guarantees effective response times and enhanced safety, resulting in smoother operations, increased fleet availability, and added value to our assets.” shared IAE.

Wissam Mehyou, CEO and Chairman of IAE stated, “As I like to say to our students: It’s not enough to be 100% safe; we need to be 1000%. The maintenance of our fleet is a priority, and streamlining this process into a single, in-house unit will also enhance our fleet readiness, allow us to respond more effectively to market needs, and meet student expectations for a faster path to the cockpit.”

Mehyou also emphasized that this investment was strategically planned to establish a capable maintenance, repair, and overhaul organization within the group, which would support our growth ambitions in the Middle East.

“The addition of a CAMO, the highest standard for aircraft airworthiness maintenance, underscores our commitment to safety. We adhere to strict CAMO regulations, providing continued airworthiness support services to ensure the utmost safety of all serviced aircraft,” Mehyou said.

This addition is part of the IAE Group’s broader investment in Cyprus, totalling 2 million euros until the end of this year. This includes the establishment of the Airways Aviation Academy in Larnaca, the academy will offer Pilot training courses initially, and soon to add Cabin Crew, Aircraft Maintenance, Ground handlers and IATA courses.
