Middle East Flag Carrier Finalises Deal for Up to 15 Boeing 787s at Dubai Airshow 2025

Bahrain – Gulf Air, the national airline of Bahrain, has signed a definitive purchase agreement with Boeing to acquire between 12 and 15 Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft. The agreement was formalised at the 2025 Dubai Airshow.

  • The deal finalises Gulf Air’s July 2025 announcement to purchase 12 Dreamliners, with an option for six additional aircraft.
  • A White House official previously estimated the deal’s value at approximately USD 7 billion, as part of Bahrain’s broader USD 17 billion investment pledge in the United States.

Gulf Air currently operates 44 aircraft including:

  • 14 A320 (plus 2 parked)
  • 16 A321 (plus 2 parked)
  • 9 B787 (plus 1 parked)
