Oman – SalamAir, Oman's low-cost carrier now majority-owned by the Government of Oman, has celebrated the graduation of 17 cadet pilots in Batch 9 of its Cadet Pilot Program, of whom 15 are Omani nationals, marking another milestone in the airline's commitment to developing national aviation talent.

Since the launch of the Cadet Pilot Program in 2019, SalamAir has enrolled 114 cadets and successfully graduated 90, with graduates progressing into operational roles within the airline. Several have advanced from First Officer to Senior First Officer, with others progressing toward Captain positions.
The 24-month structured training program combines classroom learning with practical flying experience, preparing cadets for airline operations on SalamAir's Airbus A320/A321 fleet.
Batch 10 of the program is currently in progress, with additional future batches planned as part of the airline's continued commitment to training and long-term operational growth.
SalamAir currently operates a fleet of 17 Airbus A320/A321 aircraft with over 90 daily flights to 42 destinations. The airline has taken delivery of two A320 aircraft from its order for 10 additional aircraft, with deliveries continuing in Q3 2026 and a fleet target of 25 aircraft by 2028.
In February 2026, SalamAir announced the completion of majority ownership in the airline by the Government of Oman.
