Switzerland - Next week, the world’s military flight training community will gather at Military Flight Training 2026, taking place 31st March – 2nd April 2026 at the Hotel & Conference Center Sempachersee, Switzerland.

This year marks the 25th Anniversary of the conference, officially supported by the Swiss Air Force and NATO Flight Training Europe, and it promises to deliver fresh perspectives on the challenges shaping the future of military aviation.

A Host Nation Partnership for New Insights

For the first time, MFT partners directly with the Swiss Air Force, offering delegates exclusive insight into mountain operations, international training standards, and practical approaches to operational readiness.

Intimate Roundtable Sessions

MFT 2026 introduces a new roundtable format, moderated by Heads of Training and senior aviation leaders. These sessions provide a unique forum to explore operational challenges, human-centered approaches to training, and cutting-edge solutions in a collaborative environment.

Emerging Topics Driving Training Evolution

Several new topics are set to take centre stage, including:

  • The Science of Pilot Performance: Using biometric sensors, brain activity monitoring, and cognitive load assessment to design evidence-based training that predicts and enhances pilot performance.
  • AI-Powered Training Optimisation: How air forces are applying AI to personalise training paths, predict student success, and maximise resource allocation.
  • Training for Manned-Unmanned Teaming: Dedicated sessions on integrating RPAS (Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems) into pilot development and determining who should operate unmanned systems.
  • Expanded Rotary and Multi-Engine Training: Moving beyond traditional fighter pilot coverage to include a broader spectrum of aircrew training requirements.

Innovation & SME Showcase

MFT 2026 features a dedicated Innovation and SME Showcase, highlighting emerging technologies and connecting innovative solutions with real-world military training requirements. Delegates can engage directly with solution providers in networking spaces, agenda sessions, and hands-on demonstrations.

Stay Connected — Even If You Can’t Attend

With over 400 senior leaders from more than 40 nations attending, MFT 2026 remains the premier forum to understand how training systems are evolving in line with modern operational demands.

For those unable to attend, daily coverage will be available via Defence iQ’s LinkedIn page, providing updates on keynote sessions, roundtables, technology demonstrations, and insights from the military leaders shaping tomorrow’s aircrew.
