New African Airline Training Centre Receives ATO Approval in 2025

Libya – Berniq Aviation Training Centre, an independent training institution affiliated with Berniq Airways, has officially received Approved Training Organisation (ATO) certification from the Libyan Civil Aviation Authority (LCAA). The ATO certification enables the Centre to provide certified training for pilots, cabin crew, flight dispatchers, and aircraft maintenance engineers. In July 2025 Berniq Airways inaugurated its new state-of-the-art Berniq Aviation Training Center in Benghazi marking a significant milestone in the development of specialized aviation training infrastructure in eastern Libya.

  • The opening ceremony was attended by prominent figures including the Mayor of Benghazi, the Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy, the President of the Chamber of Commerce, and representatives from the UN and UNDP.
  • The new facility features a flight simulation centre, dedicated training and administrative rooms, hospitality areas, safety and evacuation training zones, and mock-ups for multiple aircraft types.
  • The suite of devices includes Sky Art-manufactured A320 CEET, A320 Door Trainer, A330 Door Trainer, and Rapid-Fire Flight Training (RFFT) simulators

Berniq Airways currently operates 6x A320 and 1x A330.
