USA — Maloy Aircraft has announced Alpha Flight as the launch customer for its new MA-1 Blue Jay training aircraft, with early orders from flight schools surpassing $10 million within just two weeks of the program's launch.
- The MA-1 Blue Jay is a high-performance, aerobatic-capable trainer that integrates elements of military training precision into civilian flight instruction.
- Alpha Flight, co-owned by Dan Marohn and Ken Norris, aims to elevate the caliber of airline-ready graduates through military-style training approaches using the Blue Jay.
- Marohn, a former F-16 pilot and current American Airlines pilot, highlighted the aircraft’s capability to prepare confident, disciplined pilots aligned with airline expectations.
- Maloy Aircraft plans to begin FAA Part 23 certification of the MA-1 in early 2026, with first deliveries scheduled for 2029.
- The Blue Jay will serve as the cornerstone of Maloy’s integrated ecosystem, which includes advanced simulation and the proprietary Flight Lead platform.
