Nordic Pilot Training Group Grows Norwegian Flight Training Base to Over 200 Students as of 2024
Sweden and Norway headquartered global flight training organisation OSM Aviation Academy, has grown the student count at its Arendal Base in southern Norway base, which it opened in 2018, from 8 in 2019 to over 200 in 2024. The academy’s flag ship course is its “Airline Ready Pilot Program” and a key focus area is the implementation and use of Competency-Based Training and Assessment (CBTA).
OSM Aviation Academy’s Executive Director Hans Kyrre Hultgren shared “OSM Aviation Academy’s training philosophy is the use of *Competency-Based Training and Assessment (CBTA)*, which focuses on developing the core competencies required in real-world aviation. This tailored approach ensures that each student masters not only traditional flight skills but also the critical decision-making, communication, and leadership abilities necessary for safe and efficient airline operations.
In 2018 we started our expansion plan with the opening of the Arendal Base in the south of Norway in addition to our Stockholm and Fort Lauderdale bases, growing Arendal from 8 Students pre Covid to todays operation of 200 motivated cadet pilots enrolled.
A testimony to OSM Aviation Academy’s commitment to contribution to the future of aviation through relevant Airline Ready training.”
