Faroe Islands – Atlantic Airways Aviation Academy recently hosted Denmark’s Minister of Defence, Troels Lund Poulsen, and the Faroe Islands’ Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade, Sirið Stenberg, highlighting the Academy’s expanding strategic role in Arctic and North Atlantic security through pilot and search and rescue (SAR) training.
- The high-level visit underscored the Academy’s role in bolstering defence readiness in the North Atlantic, especially amid growing geopolitical focus on Arctic security.
- The Academy currently operates a Full Flight Simulator for the AW139 helicopter, supporting both commercial and SAR mission readiness.
- Atlantic Airways CEO Jóhanna á Bergi emphasised the Academy’s alignment with national and regional defence objectives through advanced simulation-based training.
