Norway's Oslo Flight Academy Receives First Bristell B23-912iS

Norway – Oslo Flight Academy has received a Bristell B23-912iS as the first of two aircraft planned to support its modular pilot-training programme, with a second IFR-capable trainer scheduled to follow. The supplier stated that the aircraft is the first certified Bristell to operate under Norwegian registration.

• The Bristell B23 received EASA type certification in October 2020 under Type Certificate EASA.A.642. The B23-912iS variant is powered by a 100 hp Rotax 912 iSc Sport engine and is certified for Day/Night VFR operations.
• BRM Aero lists a 2,000-hour engine TBO, maximum take-off weight of 750 kg, useful load of 300 kg and range of approximately 700 nm at 75% power for the B23-912iS. The aircraft can be equipped with Garmin G3X Touch avionics and uses single-lever power control with FADEC engine management.
• Oslo Flight Academy’s EASA Modular Norway programme is structured to take students from zero previous flight experience to a frozen ATPL pathway in approximately 24 months. Its syllabus includes 45 hours of single-engine flying during the PPL phase, 95 hours during the ATPL theory and pilot-in-command-building phase, and a further 50 single-engine and 17 multi-engine hours during the CPL/IR stage.
• The final module also includes CPL/ME/IR, Advanced UPRT and APS MCC training, with 40 hours on a Boeing 737 simulator. Practical flying for the Norwegian modular programme is conducted from Kjeller and Rakkestad.
