Oman Aviation Academy is Seeking to Hire an Accountable Manager in December 2024
Muscat, Oman – Oman Aviation Academy, the only flight school in the country, is seeking to hire an Accountable Manager to oversee all operational, regulatory, and safety aspects of its activities. The role requires ensuring compliance with Oman Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), and International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) standards while maintaining safety, operational, and financial excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Regulatory Compliance and Approvals
- Ensure full compliance with CAA, EASA, and international aviation standards
- Liaise with regulatory authorities and oversee audits and inspections
- Maintain necessary certifications and approvals
Safety and Quality Management
- Oversee the implementation and maintenance of a Safety Management System (SMS)
- Ensure effective quality assurance programs and safety audits
- Act as the ultimate authority on safety and compliance issues
Operational and Financial Management
- Allocate resources to meet operational and training needs
- Oversee financial performance, budgets, and resource utilization
- Maintain high standards for facilities, equipment, and aircraft availability
Training Standards and Personnel
- Ensure instructors and staff meet all regulatory and internal qualifications
- Approve training programs and materials to meet CAA/EASA requirements
- Promote continuous improvement in training methods and safety practices
Risk Management and Emergency Preparedness
- Identify, assess, and mitigate operational risks
- Oversee emergency response procedures and ensure personnel training
Communication and Leadership
- Act as the primary liaison with regulatory authorities and report to senior management
- Supervise and appoint senior management for regulatory and operational compliance
Candidate Requirements
Education
- Degree in Aviation, Management, Engineering, or related discipline, OR
- Professional qualifications such as FCL or AME licenses
Experience
- 8–10 years of operational management in aviation, with senior management experience
- Proven capability in budget, compliance, and performance management
Skills
- Deep knowledge of CAA/EASA regulations (e.g., Part-ORA, Part-145, Part-M)
- Strong leadership, analytical, and decision-making abilities
- Effective communication and organizational skills
