United Kingdom - A new Oxford-based ATO, Oxford Airline Training (OAT), has opened its doors to its new commercial pilot training facility following the recent acquisition of two MPS simulators. Both an MPS B737NG FTD and an MPS A320 FTD have been installed at Oxford’s training hall located at London Oxford Airport in the U.K. These MPS simulators, in combination with its on-aircraft training, will be utilized for UK CAA approved Modular professional pilot training, including APS MCC courses, MCC instructor training, Instrument Rating and UPRT training.
The Oxford Airline Training facility, led by co-founders Anthony Petteford and John Hardcastle, welcomed its inaugural group of students last month. By incorporating MPS devices, Oxford Airline Training will deliver high-quality, high-fidelity training for future pilots within an airlinestyle operations center. This approach will offer students an immersive learning experience that mirrors real-world scenarios. As the organization expands, additional approved training courses will be introduced, and the MPS simulators will also be available for dry hire by both airlines and individual pilots.
Richard Verburg, MPS VP of Business Development noted, “We are pleased to support Anthony, John, and the Oxford Airline Training team in implementing our simulators into their new training organization. We look forward to witnessing the positive impact that these simulators will have on the organization’s curriculum and on the success of its students.”
Anthony Petteford, OAT Director explained: “Our strategy to co-locate these two MPS, excellent type-specific jet simulators alongside our complementary fleet of DA42 aircraft and simulators, has unlocked the ability to offer turnkey pilot training solutions in a single purpose-built location. Moreover, with our strategy also dedicated to the Modular pilot training market, we believe the fidelity of these devices combined with great instruction and facilities, ‘levels-up’ the airline employment opportunities that should rightly also be available to our graduates.”
