United Kingdom - Oxford Airline Training (OAT) has launched ‘EXPEDITE’, a new fast-track modular training programme designed to complete the commercial ratings stage of a modular pilot’s training journey to airline assessment readiness in as little as 16 to 18 weeks.
Operated out of OAT’s HQ at Hangar 7, London Oxford Airport, the new EXPEDITE programme combines all advanced training modules, comprising:
The course includes 125 hours of flight and simulator training, comprised of 40 hours of Diamond DA42 multi-engine flying, 40 hours of DA42 simulator training, 40 hours of APS MCC jet simulator training on either an Airbus A320 or Boeing 737NG flight deck, and five hours in a Super Decathlon aircraft for advanced upset recovery and aerobatic experience. Students also receive 40 hours of classroom-based technical knowledge instruction and personalised airline recruitment preparation.
Unlike many modular training routes that require students to move between multiple providers, all training is delivered from OAT’s Oxford base using company-owned aircraft, simulators and facilities maintained on-site by sister company Triple J Aviation Engineering.
Anthony Petteford, Co-Founder and Director of Oxford Airline Training, said the programme was created to provide the structure and momentum of an integrated course while preserving the flexibility and value of Modular training.
“Modular pilots ultimately graduate with the same licences and ratings as integrated students,” he said. “EXPEDITE is designed to provide a seamless, professionally managed route from advanced flight training through to airline assessment preparation, giving students the best of both worlds.”
To enrol, candidates must already hold a PPL(A), Night Rating, have completed ATPL theoretical knowledge examinations, logged at least 100 hours as pilot-in-command and accumulated a minimum of 160 total flight hours. Prospective trainees are required to undergo a logbook review and simulator assessment to ensure they are prepared for the intensive programme.
Oxford Airline Training says the initiative is aimed at pilots who have already completed the early stages of their modular journey and are seeking an accelerated route to airline employment. Graduates complete the programme with a frozen ATPL, APS MCC qualification and airline assessment preparation support tailored to specific airline recruitment processes.
