United Kingdom – pilot training theory training publisher Padpilot is highlighting its AI-powered Padpilot Briefing Room (PBR), integrated within the Padpilot Academy ATPL(A) ground school platform, ahead of its participation at the European Aviation Training Summit (EATS) 2026 in Portugal. The assistant is designed to provide students and instructors with on-demand theoretical knowledge support.
- The Padpilot Briefing Room provides 24/7 AI-assisted support for ATPL(A) theoretical knowledge, allowing student pilots to ask syllabus-related questions, clarify complex aviation concepts, generate revision questions and receive explanations outside scheduled classroom sessions.
- Unlike general-purpose AI assistants, the Briefing Room draws its reference material exclusively from Padpilot's ATPL(A) educational content. According to Padpilot, responses include references to relevant EASA Learning Objectives and textbook chapters, enabling students and instructors to cross-reference information against established training materials.
- For ground school instructors, the Briefing Room supports lesson planning, question generation, quizzes and assessments. These capabilities are intended to reduce time spent preparing teaching materials and support more consistent theoretical knowledge instruction across student cohorts.
- The tool supports multiple languages, allowing international cadets to request explanations in their preferred language. It can also assist with mathematical formulas, technical tables and subject-specific revision.
- The Briefing Room forms one of four components of Padpilot Academy, alongside interactive digital textbooks, computer-based training and an ATO learning management hub. The platform covers 13 ATPL(A) theoretical knowledge subjects across 16 modules, with content aligned to UK CAA, EASA and GCAA requirements.
- Padpilot's wider ground school offering also includes Area 100 KSA (Knowledge, Skills and Attitude) courseware for ATOs. Introduced in 2025, the course provides instructor and student briefings, practical exercises, Threat and Error Management activities, mental maths training and formative and summative assessment resources to support competency-based training requirements.
- Padpilot will present its Academy offering at EATS 2026, taking place from 3–5 November at the Estoril Congress Centre in Cascais, Portugal. The event will provide an opportunity for airline training departments and ATOs to review the platform's AI-supported study, instructor preparation and learning management capabilities.
