Philippines - ALSIM is proud to announce that MAPÚA Malayan Colleges Laguna (Mapúa MCL) in the Philippines has selected the ALSIM AL250 simulator, equipped with the Engineering Pack, to enhance both pilot training and aeronautical engineering education.
The AL250 simulator addresses the initial phase of training needs (PPL, CPL, Instrument and Multi-Engine ratings) and is a SEP/MEP reconfigurable simulator certified as an EASA FNPT II, FAA AATD, and Transport Canada FTD Level 2 with IPC capability. In addition, it offers both analog and glass cockpits for each aircraft at the simple flick of a switch.
To further enhance its training and research capabilities, Mapúa Malayan Colleges Laguna has chosen to integrate the ALSIM Engineering Pack. This advanced solution allows engineering students to independently design and test aircraft models on the ALSIM AL250 simulator. Integrated within MATLAB® and Simulink®, ALSIM Engineering Pack offers endless possibilities to create custom concept instruments, extract nearly 4000 editable variables, modify aircraft flight characteristics, integrate external pilot monitoring systems and generally support research trials.
Capt. Michael John P. Reyes, Ph.D., Dean of the Mapúa-Laguna Institute of Aviation, declares: “The Mapúa-Laguna Institute of Aviation chose to acquire the ALSIM AL250 simulator with the Engineering Pack as part of its strategic commitment to integrating advanced technology into aviation and engineering education. The ALSIM AL250 provides versatile flight simulation capabilities across multiple aircraft types, enabling realistic and industry-standard pilot training, while the E-Pack complements this by offering powerful computational tools for modeling, data analysis, and system design.
Together, these platforms allow Mapúa MCL to deliver experiential, evidence-based learning that bridges aviation operations with engineering problem-solving. This choice reflects the institution’s drive to modernize its curriculum, strengthen industry partnerships, and prepare globally competitive graduates who are proficient in both practical flight simulation and analytical engineering methods.”
Anna Lezoray, Sales Manager at ALSIM, states: “We are very pleased to collaborate with Mapúa Malayan Colleges Laguna, under the visionary leadership of Michael John P. Reyes, Dean of the Mapúa-Laguna Institute of Aviation. Their decision to acquire an AL250 with the Engineering Pack demonstrates their commitment to going beyond traditional pilot training by also integrating technical and research dimensions. With this investment, their students will benefit from a unique tool that combines flight practice with scientific experimentation, preparing the next generation of pilots and aeronautical engineers to the highest standards.”
