Pier Seven Aviation Welcomes New Indian DGCA Type Rating Batch in August 2026

August 12, 2026

United Arab Emirates – Sharjah-based simulator training center Pier Seven Aviation has welcomed its latest cohort of six Indian pilots undertaking DGCA-compliant type rating training in August 2026. The intake continues the center's flow of Indian pilot training activity during 2026, utilizing a simulator operation that offers DGCA India type rating programs for both the Airbus A320 and Boeing 737NG.

  • The August intake follows several DGCA-focused batches delivered earlier in 2026. AFM reported that Pier Seven commenced its first A320 type rating batch of the year with four pilots in January, followed by eight pilots in February and approximately eight pilots in its third consecutive A320 batch in March.
  • The center's simulator capability covers Airbus A320ceo/neo, Boeing 737 Classic, Boeing 737NG and Boeing 747-400 platforms. AFM has previously reported a total inventory of six full-flight simulators at the facility.
  • Pier Seven's focus on India has developed over several years. Its Boeing 737NG FFS received Indian DGCA approval in 2024, complementing its A320 training offering and allowing the center to provide Indian pilots with type rating pathways across the country's two principal narrow-body aircraft families.
