Pipistrel Introduces Voyager Training Aircraft Designed for FAA MOSAIC Regulations with 2027 Entry

Global – aircraft manufacturer Pipistrel has introduced the two-seat Voyager training aircraft at EAA AirVenture 2026, with entry into service planned for 2027. Its IFR, intentional-spin and beginner-to-advanced training capabilities are intended to let flight schools cover more stages of a syllabus on one aircraft, affecting fleet planning and aircraft utilization.

• The Voyager has a 2026 base price of EUR240,000 and is intended for frequent instructor-student operations.
• Published specifications include:
  • Maximum take-off weight of 1,389 lb.
  • Useful load of 552 lb.
  • Maximum range of 740 nautical miles, including IFR reserves.
  • Two-seat configuration.
  • Rotax 912 ULS engine.
• Training capabilities include IFR instruction, intentional-spin certification and use across beginner and advanced phases. An integrated ballistic parachute is also included.
• The aircraft will use Garmin AXIS avionics with a touchscreen display, single-lever throttle, three-axis autopilot, level-mode button, electronic stability and protection and a haptic stall-warning system.
• Pipistrel is positioning the Voyager for the FAA’s Modernization of Special Airworthiness Certification framework. The FAA published the MOSAIC final rule in July 2025, with new light-sport aircraft certification requirements scheduled to take effect on July 24, 2026.
• The Voyager made its public debut at Textron Aviation’s display during EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh, held from July 20–25, 2026.
• AFM as well reported that Epic Flight Academy became the Voyager’s launch customer with an agreement for up to 50 aircraft. Epic ordered ten for delivery beginning in 2027 and secured options for 20 aircraft in 2028 and another 20 in 2029.
