Private-Radar Launches AI Scheduling Assistant for Flight Schools

November 4, 2026

Global – Flight school management software provider Private-Radar has introduced Charlie, an AI-powered scheduling assistant designed to help flight training organisations build and manage training schedules using natural-language instructions. The new tool allows schedulers to describe their operational requirements, with AI generating proposed schedules based on student progress, aircraft availability, training priorities and school-specific constraints.

  • Charlie enables scheduling teams to define requirements in everyday language rather than relying exclusively on predefined automation rules. The system can accommodate specific operational instructions, including 15–30 minute intervals between flights and 30-minute refuelling breaks after four hours of flying.
  • The AI assistant can identify students for scheduling based on their enrolled course, training group, progress, previous flight activity and certification status, before determining the next appropriate lesson in their training syllabus.
  • When a planned lesson cannot proceed because of aircraft availability or other operational restrictions, Charlie can identify alternative lessons compatible with the student's training progression and the flight school's requirements.
  • The scheduling process retains human oversight. Charlie prepares a proposed schedule that staff can review and modify before creating unpublished bookings, with final publication remaining under the scheduler's control.
  • The system is designed to accommodate differences between flight training organisations, including aircraft and instructor availability, student training priorities, flight spacing requirements and other school-specific scheduling policies.
  • AFM previously reported that Private-Radar launched a redesigned scheduling module in May 2026, improving resource management across aircraft, simulators and instructors. The company had also introduced an Auto-Scheduling system that automated scheduling through predefined rules. Charlie extends this capability by allowing operational requirements to be interpreted from natural-language instructions.
