Propair Flight Brings Historic New Orleans Lakefront Airport to Microsoft Flight Simulator

Louisiana, USA – Budapest-based flight simulation and aviation training software developer Propair Flight has released a digital recreation of New Orleans Lakefront Airport (KNEW) for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024.

• The KNEW package became available on 16 September 2026 and recreates the airport’s buildings, ground environment, parking areas and night environment for both current generations of Microsoft Flight Simulator. Microsoft’s Marketplace update also lists the KNEW release among new airport products for MSFS 2020.
• Propair Flight selected Lakefront Airport after users suggested and voted for the location through the developer’s Discord community. The same community-driven approach was previously used for its Brussels South Charleroi Airport scenery project.

• New Orleans Lakefront Airport opened in 1934 and today operates primarily as a general aviation facility serving private, corporate, charter and other aviation activity. The airport reports approximately 140 based aircraft and more than 78,000 annual operations, with a 6,879 ft primary runway.
• The airport’s restored Art Deco terminal was submerged by approximately four feet of water during Hurricane Katrina in 2005. A US$17 million restoration subsequently returned the building to its historic appearance, with the project completed in 2013.
• AFM previously reported that Propair Flight released Brussels South Charleroi Airport for MSFS 2020 and 2024 in April 2026, another scenery project developed following community voting.

The product is available now through the Propair Flight KNEW webshop and third-party flight simulation stores.
