Qatar Airways Receives EASA Approved Training Organisation Certificate

October 14, 2026

Qatar – Qatar Airways, the Doha-based national carrier and operator of an in-house pilot training organisation, has announced the formal presentation of its European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) Approved Training Organisation (ATO) certificate at EASA headquarters in Cologne, Germany. The approval establishes an EASA regulatory framework for the airline's authorised pilot training activities.

  • Qatar Airways is listed in EASA's official Approved Training Organisations register under certificate EASA.ATO.0099, with an issue date of 2 March 2026 and active approval status.
  • The certificate was presented to Qatar Airways' Chief Flight Operations & CAMO Officer and Senior Vice President Flight Training during a visit to EASA headquarters in Cologne.
  • EASA directly certifies and oversees approved pilot training organisations located outside its member states. The approval subjects Qatar Airways' authorised training activities to applicable European regulatory requirements and continued oversight.
  • Qatar Airways separately holds approval QAT-ATO-001 from the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority (QCAA). The regulator's published training organisation register identifies existing aircraft type rating, instructor qualification and examiner training activities.
  • Qatar Airways' existing simulator infrastructure includes EASA-qualified Level D Full Flight Simulators for Airbus A320, A330, A350 and A380 aircraft, alongside Boeing 737 MAX, 777 and 787 types.
