Global – Embraer CEO Francisco Gomes Neto has acknowledged emerging caution among airline customers around exercising aircraft purchase options amid the uncertainties generated by the Middle East war and elevated jet fuel prices, while confirming the Brazilian manufacturer has not yet seen delivery deferrals or a slowdown in active sales campaigns.

Airlines that have previously signed purchase options are deferring the decision to exercise them in order to better assess how the conflict situation develops, though Gomes Neto indicated this was distinct from outright delivery cancellations or deferrals.
Embraer's commercial backlog currently spans nearly five years of deliveries, with the company targeting between 80 and 85 commercial aircraft deliveries in 2026 and an internal ambition of 95 to 100 deliveries in 2027 — a pace Gomes Neto said depends more on supply chain improvement than on geopolitical resolution.
The company is pursuing multiple active sales campaigns for its E2 family and is targeting deal announcements at the Farnborough Airshow in July 2026, building on a strong 2025 and recent agreements including an order for 18 aircraft from Finnair and 15 aircraft from lessor Azorra — the latter pushing the E2 program past 500 orders.
Embraer is also pursuing margin improvement in its commercial aviation unit, having renegotiated lower-profitability older contracts and expecting stronger demand for new deals to support improved pricing.
The E2 family's fuel efficiency is being positioned as a commercial advantage in the current high-fuel-cost environment.
The remarks were made on the sidelines of the IATA Annual General Meeting in Rio de Janeiro.
