REISER Simulation and Training Joins Forces with Leonardo to Co-Develop AW139 FTD Level 3
Germany – REISER Simulation and Training, a Germany-based helicopter simulator solutions provider, has announced a strategic collaboration with Italian aerospace manufacturer Leonardo to codevelop a next-generation AW139 Level 3 Flight Training Device (FTD). The announcement was made during the 2025 European Rotors Show in Cologne.
-
The partnership targets the development of a high-fidelity, cost-effective AW139 Level 3 FTD tailored to civil-market requirements.
-
Leonardo will contribute OEM-grade simulation fidelity, while REISER will integrate its advanced simulator architecture and training technologies.
-
The collaboration addresses operational needs from UK-based AW139 operator HeliOperations, with a Memorandum of Understanding signed to deliver one of the initial systems.
-
The new training device aims to serve operators of small to mid-sized fleets by offering in-house training capabilities without requiring the investment level of full flight simulators.
-
The device is designed to improve flight safety and operational readiness, particularly in budget-sensitive environments.
