Romanian FTO Seeking Chief Flight Instructor in February 2026

Romania – Regional Air Services, an EASA-approved flight training organization operating from Tuzla Aerodrome, is actively seeking to hire a Chief Flight Instructor (CFI) to lead its practical flight training operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage, coordinate, and supervise all flight and flight simulation training instructors within the ATO,

  • Ensure standardisation and compliance of flight training activities with EASA Part-FCL, Part-ORA, and AACR requirements

  • Develop, implement, and maintain approved flight training programmes (PPL, CPL, IR, ME, FI)

  • Contribute to the development, revision, and implementation of ATO manuals (OM, TM, FOM, SOPs)

  • Establish procedures to monitor student progress and instructor performance

  • Appoint check and training personnel in close cooperation with the Chief Theoretical Knowledge Instructors and all Flight Instructors

  • Promote and maintain a strong safety culture and Just Culture principles

  • Participate in internal and external audits (AACR / EASA)

  • Liaise closely with the Accountable Manager, Head of Training, and Safety Manager

  • Attend management meetings and provide regular reports on flight training activities

Requirements

  • Valid EASA pilot licence (CPL or ATPL)

  • Valid EASA FI(A) rating

  • Meet EASA eligibility requirements for the position of Chief Flight Instructor in an ATO

  • 1000 hours of flight time as pilot-in-command (PIC); at least 500 of those hours should be on flying instructional duties related to the flying courses provided, of which 200 hours may be instrument ground time

  • Proven experience in flight instruction, preferably within an ATO environment

  • Thorough knowledge of EASA regulations and AACR procedures

  • Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills

  • High safety awareness and decision-making capability

  • Fluent English (spoken and written)
