Saudia Group, Including Saudia Academy, Hosts Pakistan International Airlines Delegation to Explore Aviation Cooperation

Saudi Arabia – Saudia Group has hosted a delegation from Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) to explore potential cooperation across aviation and strategic projects, with the PIA delegation also reviewing the Group’s training capabilities.

• The meeting was coordinated with the Saudi-Pakistani Joint Business Council, chaired on the Saudi side by Prince Mansour bin Mohammed Al Saud. The two countries had also signed an updated air transport services agreement in September 2025 covering the regulatory framework for bilateral air operations.
• The talks come after management control of Pakistan International Airlines Corporation Limited was transferred to an investor consortium led by Arif Habib Corporation on June 29, 2026, following completion of the first closing of the airline’s privatisation transaction.
• Saudia Group reported in February 2026 that more than 1,000 aviation professionals had graduated across eight specialised programmes delivered by Group entities including Saudia, Saudia Academy, Saudia Technic, Saudi Ground Services, SAL Saudi Logistics Services, flyadeal and CATRION, demonstrating the scale of its internal workforce-development activity.
• AFM previously reported that Saudia Academy expanded an aviation training agreement with Pakistani carrier Serene Air in November 2023, providing an earlier example of the Group’s training business working with an airline from Pakistan.
