United Kingdom – Scotland-based flight training organisation ACS Aviation has signed an Euro 3.4 million fleet expansion agreement with Italian aircraft manufacturer Tecnam at the AERO Friedrichshafen aviation exhibition, representing the largest aircraft investment in the academy's history.

  • The agreement covers a 10-aircraft expansion plan over four years, comprising four confirmed orders for the Tecnam P-Mentor valued at €1.3 million, with options secured for six additional aircraft valued at €2.1 million.
  • The expansion will grow ACS Aviation's total fleet to 23 aircraft by 2027, significantly increasing its capacity to train commercial pilots through its airline training program's.
  • The Tecnam P-Mentor is a two-seat trainer equipped with Garmin G3X avionics, powered by the Rotax 912iSc engine, offering what Tecnam describes as the lowest fuel consumption and CO₂ emissions currently available for IFR training.
  • ACS Aviation has cited consistent growth in revenue, profitability, and airline training program demand as the driver behind the investment. The academy delivered over 14,900 training hours across aircraft and simulators during 2025 and has trained more than 450 pilots since its establishment in 2007.
  • The deal was facilitated by Oriens Aviation, the authorised Tecnam dealer for the UK and Ireland.
