United Kingdom – Scottish flight training organisation ACS Flight Training, part of ACS Aviation, has reported completing 11,300 flying hours year-to-date in 2026. Announced on October 19, 2026, the milestone reflects the academy's aircraft training activity at a time when it is expanding its fleet and professional pilot training capacity at Perth Airport.

  • ACS is implementing a fleet expansion plan that includes four additional Tecnam P-Mentor aircraft ordered in April 2026, with options for another six. The investment is intended to increase the academy's aircraft fleet to 23 by 2027, supporting additional commercial pilot training capacity.
  • The academy also reported adding a third Diamond DA42 Twin Star aircraft during 2026, representing a further £500,000 investment in its multi-engine training capability and supporting availability for advanced pilot training courses.
  • AFM previously reported that ACS Aviation delivered more than 14,900 training hours across aircraft and simulators during 2025. The 2026 figure represents flying hours reported through October 19, while the earlier total includes simulator training across the full year.
  • ACS provides a modular Fast Track ATPL pathway designed to take students from initial flight training to a frozen ATPL in approximately 18 months, alongside PPL, CPL, instrument rating, multi-engine and instructor training courses.
  • The academy's training fleet includes Cessna 152, Piper PA28-161 Warrior, Piper PA28R Arrow, Tecnam P-Mentor and Diamond DA42 aircraft. Simulator training is supported by ALSIM AL42 and ALX devices, including FNPT II capabilities for instrument and multi-crew training.
