USA - Illinois Aviation Academy (IAA), operated by Spartan Education Group (SEG), is excited to announce the FAA-approved opening of its new satellite training base at DeKalb Taylor Municipal Airport (DKB). This location features an FAA-approved Advanced Training Device (ATD), allowing students to practice procedures and log valuable instrument training hours in alignment with IAA’s FAA Part 141 program. With this expansion, IAA strengthens its commitment to fostering the next generation of aviators across Illinois.
Located at DeKalb Taylor Municipal Airport, a hub for general aviation in the far western suburbs of Chicago, this satellite base to DuPage Airport is strategically positioned to offer students an ideal training environment. IAA has added two new training aircraft, and an FAA approved ATD to the DeKalb fleet, equipped to support aspiring pilots as they work toward their aviation goals. Additionally, IAA is now enrolling for their newly launched pilot training partnership with Atlas Air, the Atlas Cadet Academy (ACA). The academy is designed to prepare aspiring aviators for possible opportunities to become First Officers with Atlas, one of the largest 747 operators in the world, serving both cargo and passenger needs.
"This expansion aligns with IAA's mission to make quality flight training accessible and streamlined for aspiring recreational and professional pilots across Illinois," said Robert Werderich, Executive Vice President of Flight Operations at SEG. "DeKalb Taylor Municipal Airport provides an ideal setting, with excellent facilities and light to moderate traffic conditions that make it optimal for all types of training and pilot skill levels."
