SFC Australia Welcomes 12 Pilots to Latest Flight Instructor Rating Cohort in August 2026

Australia – Sydney Flight College (SFC Australia) has welcomed 12 pilots into its latest Flight Instructor Rating cohort at its Sydney training operation.

• SFC delivers the qualification as the AVI50419 Diploma of Aviation (Flight Instructor) from Bankstown Aerodrome in Sydney. The current full-time course runs for 15 weeks and comprises 50 flying hours, 35 briefing hours and 45 theory hours, for 130 scheduled course hours.
• SFC’s current course schedule lists Flight Instructor Rating intakes in August, September, October and November 2026.
• The programme provides a direct potential employment pathway within SFC. The organisation states that top-performing graduates may be offered an interview for a Grade 3 Flight Instructor position and that its current Grade 2 and Grade 3 instructors are graduates of the programme.
• The Diploma of Aviation (Flight Instructor) is eligible for Australia’s VET Student Loans programme through Schofields Flying Club Limited trading as SFC, Registered Training Organisation 90866. SFC currently lists the course fee at AUD39,900.
• SFC reported 31 Flight Instructor Ratings completed during 2025. At year-end, its training operation included 53 instructors, with 16 instructors having joined during the year while six longer-serving instructors transitioned to airline positions, illustrating the ongoing movement of instructors through the school-to-airline employment pipeline.
