Ireland – Dublin-based airline pilot training provider Simtech Aviation has welcomed a group of National Flight Centre (NFC) Integrated ATPL students to its training center in late October 2026, providing an introduction to its Airline Pilot Standards Multi-Crew Cooperation (APS MCC) training and airline assessment preparation. The visit comes as Simtech reports its remaining 2026 APS MCC courses are fully booked and demand is extending into its newly released 2027 training schedule.
- Simtech has opened six APS MCC course start dates for the first quarter of 2027, with three in January, two in February and one in March. The company reported that January availability was already approaching capacity as of late October 2026, indicating forward bookings for its multi-crew pilot training offering.
- The visiting NFC students are progressing through their Integrated ATPL theoretical knowledge studies, with Simtech expecting a number of them to progress to APS MCC training over the following 12 months. The visit forms part of the organisations' established training relationship, supporting the transition from ab initio flight training to airline-oriented multi-crew instruction.
- During the visit, students received briefings on APS MCC course requirements, preparation methods, training facilities and airline assessment expectations. Discussions also covered crew coordination, communication and the competencies assessed during airline selection processes.
- Simtech highlighted the progression of previous NFC graduates into airline positions with Ryanair, Aer Lingus and Emerald Airlines, alongside recruitment activity involving Simtech graduates across European airlines during 2026.
- NFC separately welcomed 18 students to its September 2026 Integrated ATPL intake at Weston Airport. The academy's published training pathway includes 230 hours of flight and simulator training, 750 hours of theoretical knowledge instruction and an APS MCC course.
- AFM previously reported that Simtech Aviation and National Flight Centre established a training partnership in May 2025, under which NFC Integrated ATPL students complete their EASA APS MCC training at Simtech. The agreement also provides NFC modular students with access to Simtech's MCC and APS MCC offerings.
- Students received hands-on familiarisation in Simtech's Boeing 737-800NG APS MCC training device and Airbus A320ceo Full Flight Simulator (FFS). Simtech's established APS MCC course includes four days of ground school and 40 hours of Boeing 737-800 simulator instruction over approximately 16 days, covering crew resource management, airline procedures, flight management systems, normal and non-normal operations, and upset prevention and recovery training.
