Global Aviation training solution provider SimViz Labs has announced a B737 MAX Flight Management System training offering covering FMC programming, flight guidance, vertical navigation and datalink procedures.

  • The solution includes FMC programming for departures, arrivals and approaches, together with VNAV climb and descent management, top-of-descent calculations and altitude and speed constraint sequencing.
  • Flight guidance functions include autothrottle, roll, pitch and autopilot-status annunciations across the Flight Mode Annunciator, plus approach and go-around scenarios.
  • The interface incorporates thrust levers, TOGA switches, flaps, speed brakes, a Primary Flight Display and a Navigation Display showing the active route, waypoints and constraints.
  • An AI-supported CPDLC module covers datalink clearances, route amendments and controller communications through the Control Display Unit.
  • Airlines can configure the ACARS module around their own operational-control menus, dispatch procedures and message formats.
  • SimViz describes the product as built to aircraft-level accuracy.
  • SimViz develops its FMS training systems for iPad deployment, with airline-specific procedures, fleet configurations and operational data available for institutional implementations. Its product portfolio covers the A320, B737 NG, B737 MAX and B747-400.
  • AFM also reported that SimViz had positioned its iPad-based trainers for APS MCC, type-rating and airline-selection preparation by shifting FMS and automation familiarization into pre-simulator training.
