Singapore – Airline pilot training provider Singapore Flying College (SFC), a wholly owned subsidiary of Singapore Airlines, has organised a visit to the Airbus Asia Training Centre (AATC) for cadets from its C277 and C278 cohorts. Announced on October 26, 2026, the visit provided future airline pilots with exposure to full flight simulation technology and the training procedures used in commercial airline operations.

  • The Airbus Asia Training Centre, located at Seletar Aerospace Park, has nine installed full flight simulators across its 10 simulator bays, supporting airline pilot type rating, recurrent training and cross-crew qualification programs.
  • During the visit, the cadets were introduced to the center's flight simulation facilities and technologies used by airline pilots to develop and maintain aircraft handling skills, procedural knowledge and operational proficiency.
  • The visit forms part of Singapore Flying College's broader approach to preparing cadets for airline operations, connecting their initial ground school and flight training experience with the simulation-based training environments used during later stages of professional pilot development.
  • Airbus Asia Training Centre already works with Singapore Flying College to support the Multi-Crew Pilot Licence (MPL) pathway for Singapore Airlines Group cadets, providing a connection between ab initio instruction and aircraft-specific airline training.
  • AFM previously reported that Airbus Asia Training Centre selected an ALSIM Airliner FNPT II MCC simulator in September 2026 to support Singapore Flying College's MPL Phase 2 training. The device is scheduled to become operational in early 2027, subject to regulatory approval, and will provide additional simulator capability for multi-crew training before cadets progress to later phases.
  • AATC's simulator inventory, as disclosed by Airbus in September 2026, comprises four Airbus A350, two A320, one A330, one A380 and one ATR 72-600 full flight simulator, alongside six fixed cockpit training devices. The center also plans to introduce an Airbus A220 full flight simulator in Q4 2027.
