Singapore's Scoot Opens 2026 Cadet Pilot Program with 18–24 Month Training Pathway

Singapore – Low-cost carrier Scoot has opened applications for its 2026 Cadet Pilot Program, offering selected candidates a co-funded training pathway leading to either a Multi-Crew Pilot Licence (MPL) or frozen ICAO ATPL, followed by airline base and line training toward Second Officer or Junior First Officer positions.

• Essential Requirements
  • Minimally 18 years old (as required by regulations in Air Navigation Order).
  • Legally entitled to work in Singapore upon completion of training.
  • Min GCE 'O' level with at least 5 Credits in the GCE 'O' level or its equivalent at one sitting. These must include English, Mathematics, and a Science subject, preferably Physics.
  • Qualify for Class I & II unrestricted medical certification as approved by the Civil Aviation Medical Board (CAMB).
  • Good visual acuity of at least 6/60 without optical aid, correctable to 6/6 and not colour blind to meet safety requirements.
  • Willingness and commitment to serve a compulsory bond period.
• Successful candidates are required to commit to a minimum of 18–24 months of consecutive training without disruption. The program is co-funded, with selected cadets required to enter a six-year training bond following completion of the training period, according to the current recruitment posting.
• Cadets will train at Scoot’s preferred training college under a customised course leading to an MPL or frozen ICAO ATPL. After graduation, they will undertake Scoot base and line training before progressing into operational flight crew positions.
• The recruitment comes as Scoot expands its fleet. The airline reported in May 2026 that it operated 63 aircraft: 24 Boeing 787-8/-9 Dreamliners, 30 Airbus A320-family aircraft comprising six A320ceos, 12 A320neos and 12 A321neos, and nine Embraer E190-E2s. Scoot has also ordered or exercised options for 11 additional A320neo-family aircraft for delivery from 2028.
