Azerbaijan – Türkiye-based cabin training equipment manufacturer SkyArt has provided further details of its completed turnkey Cabin Crew Training Center project for Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) in Baku, confirming responsibility for facility design, engineering and equipment installation. The facility consolidates aircraft-specific emergency evacuation, door operation and firefighting training infrastructure, supporting AZAL's internal cabin crew training requirements and potential third-party training activities.

  • The broader AZAL-initiated International Training Center at the National Aviation Academy has a stated annual training capacity target of approximately 3,000 flight crew members and 30 air traffic controllers.
  • SkyArt confirmed that its turnkey project responsibilities included architectural design, engineering, equipment integration and installation, extending beyond the manufacture and delivery of individual training devices.
  • The training facility is intended to support AZAL's operational training requirements while potentially accommodating other international aviation operators.
  • SkyArt stated that the training center was designed to meet applicable European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and local aviation authority requirements, supporting practical emergency procedures, evacuation and cabin safety instruction.
  • The wider International Training Center, developed on the grounds of Azerbaijan's National Aviation Academy, was formally inaugurated on April 8, 2026. Its infrastructure includes cabin crew emergency training equipment, air traffic control simulation and other aviation training facilities.
  • AFM previously reported that SkyArt completed the Factory Acceptance Test of the final Embraer E1 Door Trainer for AZAL in May 2026, completing the six-device cabin simulator project.
  • The six-device installation incorporates an Airbus A320/A321 Cabin Emergency Evacuation Trainer (CEET), Boeing 787 Door Trainer, Embraer E1 Door Trainer, Real Fire Fighting Trainer (RFFT), and widebody and narrowbody evacuation slide platforms. The equipment provides practical training capabilities covering aircraft door operation, emergency evacuation, firefighting and cabin safety procedures.
