Skyborne Hosts RAF Air Cadets for Commercial Pilot Training Experience in September 2026

United Kingdom – Skyborne Airline Academy hosted a group of RAF Air Cadets in September 2026 for an immersive introduction to commercial pilot training, including simulator exposure, a facility and hangar tour and a mock classroom lesson. The visit gave prospective future aviators direct exposure to the training environment and progression involved in preparing for a commercial pilot career.

  • The RAF Air Cadets currently has around 40,000 cadets across the United Kingdom. Young people can join between ages 12 and 17, subject to school-year requirements, and can remain as cadets until age 20.
  • Skyborne’s UK training environment includes Diamond DA42 and Zlin Z 242 L aircraft, alongside Boeing 737 MAX, Airbus A320 and Diamond DA42 simulator equipment. Its ground-school facilities include dedicated classrooms and briefing areas, while the academy maintains aircraft through an in-house engineering operation.
  • Skyborne expanded its UK simulator capacity in August 2026 with the installation of a UK CAA-approved Airbus A320 Flight Training Device at Bournemouth Airport.
