Skyborne is Seeking to Hire a Head of Ground Training/Chief Theoretical Knowledge Instructor in 2025
Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, UK – Skyborne is seeking to hire a Head of Ground Training/Chief Theoretical Knowledge Instructor (CTKI). The Head of Ground Training/Chief Theoretical Knowledge Instructor is responsible for the theoretical knowledge training conducted at all Skyborne Airline Academy sites in the UK with minor oversite of a US based site. This key post-holder position is responsible for maintaining high-quality instruction, ensuring regulatory compliance, and continuously improving the standard of theoretical knowledge training at Skyborne.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and standardize theoretical knowledge training at all sites (UK CAA, GCAA, EASA)
- Manage Ground Training Managers and monitor student progress and instructor performance
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements for theoretical knowledge training
- Chair internal Theoretical Knowledge Instructor meetings and represent Skyborne at external regulatory meetings
- Develop and maintain training policies, documentation, and courseware to meet regulatory and business standards
- Act as a Theoretical Knowledge Instructor when needed
- Drive continuous improvement in theoretical training delivery and student experience
- Oversee the Skyborne LMS (Skyworx) for training content and course management
Candidate Requirements
- Extensive experience in ATPL Theoretical Knowledge Instruction Delivery
- Proven leadership in an ATO management role
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to manage and implement change in a fast-paced environment
- Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering high standards of training
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements (UK CAA, EASA, GCAA)
